Frequently asked questions
Why isn't the map showing any incidents?
Ember fetches data from public Victorian emergency feeds. If no incidents are showing, it may be that there are currently no active incidents, or there may be a temporary issue with the data feed. Try pulling to refresh or checking back shortly.
How often does the data update?
Ember auto-refreshes at a configurable interval. You can also trigger an immediate refresh at any time. The underlying data comes from public emergency feeds, which update as incidents are reported and managed.
Does Ember work outside Victoria?
Ember currently shows fire incident data for the state of Victoria, Australia only. The data source is specific to Victorian emergency services.
Can I use Ember in another language?
Yes — Ember includes built-in translation powered by Apple's Translation framework. Tap the translate button on any incident or CFA article to translate it into your preferred language. This feature is available on iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
Which devices does Ember support?
Ember runs natively on iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Vision Pro. The experience adapts to each platform while keeping things consistent and intuitive.
